Tell us about your company. What do you specialize in and how did the idea come about?

Golf Avenue is an online retailer that specializes in golfing gear. My business partner, Marc-Antoine, and I started the business when we were only 18 years-old, since we were both huge golf fans. We participated in multiple junior tournaments and we were looking for a job that would mix our passion and help us make a couple bucks.

Tell us something unique about your business

We’re two golf freaks who built the largest retail website specialized in overstock and second-hand golfing gear. So we can offer the best prices on the market!

To what do you attribute your success?

Mostly to the passion that inhabits every member of our team and their will to go above and beyond.

What are the biggest challenges you face on the acquisition side?

Our acquisition budgets have increased significantly over the years. Even the slightest percentage variation can have a big financial impact - that’s why we need to create and maintain a solid operational structure.

If you could start over, what would you do differently?

Nothing! Obviously, the experience we have today is way different and more solid than when we were 18, so maybe we’d just go faster!

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Don’t spend too long on planning and dive in right away! Of course, you need a good idea and a project that will (one day!) be profitable. But too many great ideas will simply die before they’re executed. In my opinion, it’s all about the work you put in so go for it!
